American Citizens United
Press Release
We at American Citizens United have made the decision not to file our petitions to recall Mayor Phil Gordon.  This decision is based on some of the technicalities of the process, and the complex challenging task we undertook, on behalf of the Citizens of Phoenix.  We believe we did our very best, but did not anticipate some of the stumbling blocks along they way.

First of all, I would like very much to thank all of our dedicated, loyal, volunteers who unflinchingly carried on thier grassroots efforts even in the extreme Arizona heat during the months of July and August.  We will forever be grateful to you!

I am truly grateful to all of those who generously donated to our cause, and placed their trust in us.  Please be assured we worked long and hard.  The trust and support from the Citizens of Phoenix was indeed moving.  We thank KFYI for providing ACU with a venue to communicate our important message to the Phoenix community and its citizens.  You can be assured that we will continue our mission to work for the betterment of our City and hold our leaders accountable for their actions.  We will continue to examine Mayor Gordon’s leadership including his latest actions; which in our opinion have escalated to an unacceptable degree of excessive impropriety in Washington and locally.  “Mayor Gordon, we will continue to hold your feet to the fire!”

We plan to continue as an organization, united as American Citizens.  This experience was priceless and we learned a lot from it.  I invite talented experienced people to join us as we continue on our mission.

We thank our thousands of citizens who supported us with your signatures and whom gratefully thanked us for undertaking this effort.  Don’t feel as though we failed you.  We all would have indeed failed, if we had not tried to do what’s right and merely stood by on the sidelines.

To quote Winston Churchill, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”

Please check our website at www.azpseil.cloverpad.org for news and updates of our ongoing endevors.  We must unite as American citizens for the good of our city, state and this wonderful country.  It will take many of us to make a difference.  Please join our efforts in protecting and supporting our way of life in the United States of America.  “United we stand, divided we fall.”

We are sincerely grateful to all the citizens of Phoenix who sought us out to sign the petitions,

Anna Gaines, M.Ed.  Founder, Chairman of ‘AMERICAN CITIZENS UNITED’
